Mission & Philosophy

Child's Way ABA provides continuing education and consultation for ABA professionals with a focus on autism acceptance and Developmentally Appropriate Practice.

Early intervention should be informed by principles of Child Development and Applied Behavior Analysis. We believe that all young children have a right to developmentally appropriate learning opportunities, and that right extends to young autistic children. Play provides children with these learning opportunities in which they get the chance to make sense of their world, engage with people, and express themselves; play-based intervention should provide the same opportunities. Play is an activity that is self-chosen, self-directed, and joyful. It is also the entry point for engagement with a young autistic child. In other words, we believe that engagement begins the Child's Way.

Warm and responsive adult-child relationships set the foundation for development across domains. Child's Way ABA supports adults in developing and maintaining secure and consistent relationships with young autistic children which then allows them to support skill development and autonomy through play and other motivating activities.
